H2M was retained by the Incorporated Village of Freeport to design a new two-story, mixed use building at Sea Breeze Park at the end of Freeport’s well known “Nautical Mile.” This shingle style building built atop a grid of wood piles is a new destination point for Long Island boaters to tie up and explore the locally owned retail stores and restaurants the area has to offer. This building provides a private office space on the second floor and an office for the local harbor master on the first floor. In addition, fully handicap accessible toilet and shower facilities are provided as a convenience to the public as well as roofed over outside areas where people can gather to escape the sun, relax and enjoy the waterfront experiences.
