U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services
Interior Renovation and Expansion
Bethpage, NY
We designed the interior renovation and expansion of the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) New York Asylum Office in order to meet the increased administrative needs of the nation’s immigration system.
The expansion is approximately 12,000 square feet and includes offices, reception and security entrance upgrades, expanded waiting area, employee staff room, training conference room, restrooms, and file storage areas. The renovation space is part of the existing 36,650-square-foot suite.
Our team designed temporary partitions and egress components as well as a phasing plan to ensure the office and its functions could remain operational during construction.
We also provided space planning, design, preparation of bid and permitting documents, and construction administration. Space planning design referenced all USCIS standards, as well as the NY State Building Code. Interior design was influenced by the existing space finishes and continued into the new expansion areas.
