Patrick Stone Writes on Essential Facilities and Climate Change
Public Safety Market Director Patrick Stone, RA, LEED AP has a new article in Firehouse Magazine. Titled “Essential Facility Response to Climate Change,” this article explains the impacts that climate change could have on essential facilities, such as fire stations and public safety answering points. Recovering from natural disasters can be expensive, but preparing ahead of time to mitigate the damage can result in significant savings.
In his article, Patrick lists five steps for how an essential facility can identify their vulnerabilities. He uses the Saratoga County Public Safety Facility as a case study of how vulnerability assessments should influence a building’s design to prepare for the future.
