Part of H2M’s CEO/President, Richard Humann’s recent five-year growth plan included a new Core of Excellence initiative. With the company’s continued growth, assuring consistent quality standards and continuing to strengthen the practices and procedures put in place across all disciplines and offices has become imperative.
The Core of Excellence is a deliberate new H2M initiative that will focus on excellence and quality as an essential element of our services. It’s a firm-wide commitment to deliver innovative and best-in-class excellence to our clients, our colleagues, and ourselves; and it’s a pivotal component of our stated Vision to “be a nationally recognized leader in the integrated delivery of a/e services” and Mission to dedicate ourselves to “building sustainable communities.”
H2M’s Chief Operating Officer, Joseph Mottola stated “In this new role, David will be responsible for creating, developing, directing, coordinating, and implementing plans and systems for the new H2M Core of Excellence initiative across all disciplines, markets, and offices. He will be responsible for the day to day operational leadership, strategic planning, and performance of the Core of Excellence.”
David is a Vice President of H2M, and currently serves as Albany Office Director. Prior to this position, he was the co-founder of a nationally recognized, award winning firm, Pacheco Ross Architects, P.C. (PRA), which H2M acquired. David has personally designed and/or evaluated more than 200 emergency response facilities and has received numerous accolades for his designs and ability to serve the client, the budget, and the environment. David graduated Cum Laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he also studied abroad in Rome, Italy. For the past 18 years, Mr. Pacheco and his wife have funded a recurring scholarship for architecture students to also study abroad in Italy. David is also a Professor of Professional Practice at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Along with being a licensed Registered Architect in 10 states, NCARB Certified, a member of the American Institute of Architects, a Rensselaer Newman Foundation Trustee, ASTM member, a Brown Fellowship Juror, and an honorary member of Kingston Fire Department and Grand Boulevard Fire Department, David most recently was elected by the public for a full five-year term as Fire Commissioner of Niskayuna Fire District No. 1.
David’s broad leadership experience and design expertise has also enabled him to teach, write, and counsel on all aspects of architecture and engineering. He has had articles and books published, received frequent awards and honors, and is continuously working toward realizing H2M’s mission, vision, and values. This dedication to his craft will be harnessed to lead the Core and elevate the concept of excellence at H2M to the next level.
