H2M’s Wildfire Resiliency Article Featured in New York Real Estate Journal
H2M Senior Vice President and Private Sector Real Estate Discipline Director Kevin Paul, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, CFM, recently published an article on wildfire resiliency in the “Developing Long Island” edition of New York Real Estate Journal.
The article, titled “Developing Long Island for Wildfire Resiliency,” addresses the heightened risk of wildfires on Long Island and recommends design strategies for protecting both new and existing structures.
Wildfire resiliency strategies include using fire-resistant building materials such as steel frame, concrete, stucco, brick, or cross-laminated timber, and establishing defensible space around any structures to create a buffer zone with little to no flammable material.
