H2M CEO Richard Humann Offers Predictions for 2025

H2M President and CEO Richard Humann, P.E., recently offered his insight on anticipated 2025 Long Island business trends as part of a Long Island Business News spotlight looking at the year ahead.

Humann, who began his career at H2M as a water supply engineer, discussed ongoing efforts by businesses and municipalities to meet evolving federal water quality requirements and the necessary expansion of Advanced Oxidation Process systems and lead and copper pipe replacement programs to do so.

He also anticipates that adaptive reuse—in which existing structures are repurposed for new uses—will continue to play a major role in the residential and commercial development on Long Island, where space for new buildings is limited. Likewise, transit-oriented developments centered around the Long Island Rail Road, such as the upcoming Station Yards development, will provide easy access to public transportation and reduce automobile traffic on our roads.

“Addressing Long Island’s aging infrastructure requires a robust workforce equipped to embrace new technologies and tackle complex challenges,” said Humann. “By engaging students and young professionals, we can cultivate the creative visionaries needed to lead the industry into the future.”
