ACE Mentor Program

H2M is a sponsor of the ACE Mentor Program, which stands for Architecture, Construction, and Engineering. The ACE Mentor Program provides a forum for high school students to be mentored and inspired to pursue careers in architecture and engineering design as well as the construction industry. It’s the industry’s fastest-growing high school mentoring program, reaching over 8,000 students annually. Each school year, our Long Island and Westchester offices each have an ACE Mentor class of approximately 25 high school students who visit our office bi-weekly to work with our staff. Throughout the school year, the students break up into teams and work on a real design project to present to their families and school faculty in May. The students get real hands-on experience and are empowered to find a passion in the type of work we do.  These students are eligible for scholarships in their senior year and many of our mentees have been awarded thousands of dollars to help pursue their college education.  The ACE Mentor Program awards approximately $2.5 Million in scholarships annually.

Internships

In an effort to promote careers in architecture, engineering, and environmental science, H2M utilizes a staff of interns every summer to assist the company and grow our industry. This year we are welcoming interns in architectural design, engineering, and environmental services from colleges including:

Community Involvement

H2M has been a longtime supporter of Canstruction Long Island.  Canstruction holds annual design and build competitions to construct fantastic, oversized structures made entirely out of canned food.  After the structures are built and the winners are declared, the creations go on view to the general public as gigantic art exhibits.  At the close of the competition, all of the Canstruction are dismantled, and the food used in the structures is donated to local food banks for distribution to community emergency programs. Canstruction is the most unique food charity in the world!  In our 10 years of involvement, H2M has donated approximately 35,000 pounds of food to Long Island Cares.  Our track record of winning sculptures has awarded us wins in all categories, including: Most Cans Used, Structural Ingenuity, Best Use of Labels, Best Meal, Jurors’ Favorite and People’s Choice Awards.

Community Involvement –  H2M is a strong proponent of community involvement.  On both a corporate and employee level, we support involvement with a number of community organizations, including:
