H2M designed The Bristal at York Avenue, the first ground up constructed assisted living facility for seniors in Manhattan by developer Engel Burman, as part of the The Bristal Assisted Living senior living communities. This 14-story Upper East Side property sits at the southeast corner of York Avenue and 86th Street and features over 130 apartments for seniors looking for both independent and assisted living. In addition, the luxury development offers a memory care program with specialized care for residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Residents will have access to amenities such as common space on every floor, a fitness center, beauty salon, a bistro, two dining rooms, a flexible activity and recreation room, and an outdoor rooftop terrace. Additional services include daily meals and housekeeping, in-unit emergency response systems that can detect sudden falls, scheduled transportation to sites and events around Manhattan, as well as a rotating schedule of social events.
This 14-story poured-in-place concrete building is the tallest structure in @H2M architects + engineers’ portfolio of work to date.
