Saratoga County unveiled a new public safety facility on Thursday, August 20, 2020. The new building is a state-of-the-art facility that will bring a number of departments under one roof and provide more resources to keep residents safe. The purpose of this essential service facility is to combine the County Emergency Services, Emergency Operations Center, 911 Call Center, Sheriff, Public Health, and Probation Departments under one roof for efficiencies in space, coordination, communication, emergency power, community training, and outreach.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department, Office of Emergency Services, and the County Health Department share similar missions and work hand-in-hand during emergency situations. Their co-location near the existing communications tower on County owned land is intentional; this placement allows for future growth and provides the County with a central location for all of its emergency response needs.
County officials cut the ribbon on the Paul E. Lent Public Safety Facility, which is named after former Galway Town Supervisor who was killed in an accident in 2018.
