District-Wide Capital Improvements

Irvington, NY

In 2019, we helped the Irvington Union Free School District develop a district-wide capital improvement plan and secure public approval for an $18.3 million bond. The plan focused on safety and security, modernizing learning spaces, and energy efficiency through improved lighting.

Safety measures include new security vestibules at every school, reducing entry points at the middle and high schools to only the new vestibules, security cameras, enhanced exterior lighting, card swipe access to classrooms, and safety film on windows.

Modernizing the learning spaces included replacing aging infrastructure and enhancing the academic spaces to twenty-first century standards. Our team replaced the roofs and flooring; renovated the bathrooms; designed sitework and paving improvements; upgraded the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services; and added a new facilities storage building, bleachers, and a press box. The academic space upgrades incorporate new technologies, renovated media centers, and a new Campus Learning Pavilion with an outdoor classroom.
