Michael Tumulty, P.E. has re-joined the staff of H2M architects + engineers, taking the role of Vice President, Deputy Market Leader for Public Agencies.
Michael has 35 years of experience in civil and coastal engineering, flood control, and environmental engineering. On the environmental front, he has directed numerous site assessments, subsurface investigations, remedial investigations, and remedial designs. He specializes in planning and design for resiliency in infrastructure to address climate change. His experience in coastal engineering includes computer modeling of storm surges routed into New York Harbor and Newark Bay for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and FEMA. Mr. Tumulty has conducted investigations and provided designs for shore front structures in New York, New Jersey, and overseas.
Michaels holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Hofstra University, an MS in Environmental Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and New Jersey and is an American Recipient of the Winston Churchill Fellowship for Water Resources/Flood Control.
As an environmental engineer by education, Michael began his career in our Melville, NY office in 1987 eventually transferring to New Jersey where he successfully led our office in Totowa (predecessor to Parsippany until 1999).
Utilizing his past experience and relationships with major private sector and industrial clients, Michael will be based in our Suffern, New York office working closely with our executive team there to become familiar with our Suffern operation and vision looking forward. Michael will be focused on working to expand H2M’s environmental consulting presence in both New York and New Jersey. We look forward to Michael augmenting H2M’s reputation in the public agency market.
