Melville, NY- (October, 28, 2016) Jeffrey L. Czajka, P.E., LEED AP BD+C is the Senior Vice President and Director of the MEP Group at H2M architects + engineers. Throughout his career, Mr. Czajka has grown to be an expert in the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering industry through a journey of overcoming adversity, maintaining consistent determination, hard work, and by landing career jumps along the way.
When Mr. Czajka graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1991, he faced the same problems many graduates face today, finding a job straight out of college. Until the first job opportunity in his desired field presented itself, he worked hard as a carpenter for six years framing 7,000-20,000 sq. ft. homes. Mr. Czajka explained that when he saw an open position listed in Newsday for H2M’s water department he immediately jumped on the opportunity. Soon after, Mr. Czajka received a call, and there his long career at H2M began. In the beginning stages of Mr. Czajka’s career he worked on many water related projects, through which he acquired skills in electrical and mechanical engineering.
Mr. Czajka quickly grew fond of the MEP side of H2M’s business. As the firm’s need for MEP work grew, Mr. Czajka began to manage the electrical market and he eventually landed the jump to where he is today, director of the MEP Group at H2M.
Mr. Czajka has a very exciting life outside of the H2M walls where he actively rides motocross dirt bikes with his kids, landing jumps on their favorite courses. Mr. Czajka is a father of a very close family consisting of his two kids, Cooper and Christie, and his wife Lena. Mr. Czajka and his family enjoy fishing, visiting his wife’s extended family in Sweden, and vacationing in the Caribbean, preferably Jamaica.
When Mr. Czajka was asked to explain what his biggest accomplishment was at H2M, he explained that it is most rewarding to see how well the MEP department works with all of the various markets at H2M, and supporting the overall growth of the company. Mr. Czajka reflected back on when the markets at H2M began to expand rapidly. It was then that he saw his MEP role increase significantly, to ensure that they could continue to support the different markets. All of the H2M markets team together on various projects, and H2M encourages collaboration between the different markets to satisfy every client need.
Mr. Czajka said, “My favorite part about working at H2M are the fantastic people in the company, and the amazing clients that H2M serves.” Mr. Czajka added, “H2M clients are nice, professional, and appreciative of the services we provide, which works perfectly with H2M’s culture.” Mr. Czajka also mentioned that H2M employees are goal oriented, determined, and collaboratively work together to guarantee that their clients are happy and satisfied.
Mr. Czajka has completed many projects for H2M during his 25 year career, using his overall expertise with the MEP industry. Mr. Czajka concentrates on preparation of specifications, design plans, providing project management, and coordination with clients and contractors to oversee scope and execution of contracts. Mr. Czajka also has a very strong background in large industrial power systems, instrumentation, control systems, and SCADA systems. Some of Mr. Czajka’s major projects include: providing emergency design for new electrical services and communication systems destroyed by Hurricane Sandy for the Town of Hempstead, also working on site directing contractors to restore power and communications to several buildings.
Mr. Czajka is a man who wears many hats in the MEP Department, and is an expert at all that he does for H2M. Mr. Czajka has clearly embraced every jump in his life, and landed them with perfection, building him to be the MEP expert he is today.
