H2M wins two awards at Canstruction Long Island 2013

We’re excited to announce that H2M’s Canstruction team took home two awards at this year’s Long Island competition: “Most Cans” and “Structural Ingenuity”. Designed using just over 6,000 canned goods and taking 10 hours to build, “Send Hunger Out of this World” is H2M’s seventh can structure contribution. The structure will be on display at RXR Plaza, Uniondale, through November 7th. Please visit the structure and bring a few cans of food along to vote for our team as the “Tenant Favorite”.

Special thanks and congratulations to this year’s team members: Adam Post, Amanda Seidel, Andrea Sobocinski, Andrew Manfredi, Charlie Starke, Clara Sipic, Cole Podolsky, Ernie Iannucci, Gil Brindley, Glynis Vidalon, Ivana Nitzova, Jackie Wukovits, Jeff Czajka, Jimmy Bianco, Katie McMahon, Kevin Medler, Matt Russo, Mike Freitas, Patrick Stone, Robert Bee, Ron Lanner, Saverio Belfiore, Steve Mirra, Tim Schultz, and Team Captain Chris Sagistano.

Canstruction is an annual design/build competition involving five-person teams of architects, engineers, contractors and/or those professionals mentoring students, associations or businesses as they design and build giant self-supporting structures made entirely of canned food. The structures remain on display to the public for two weeks, and then all food is donated to our local food bank, Long Island Cares, Inc., The Harry Chapin Food Bank.
