H2M architects + engineers acquires Frank S. Smith, Architect

H2M architects + engineers is pleased to announce the acquisition of Frank S. Smith, Architect, an architecture firm with locations in Maspeth, NY and East Northport, NY. Frank Smith and his staff joined H2M in the firm’s Melville office on March 2.

Smith’s firm started out 21 years ago in a home office and expanded to two locations. The firm’s projects have included single-family homes, multi-unit apartment buildings, commercial spaces and office buildings, industrial and warehouse spaces, religious and institutional properties, as well as outdoor spaces and historic restoration projects.

“After 20 years of being the principal and owner of my own firm, H2M offered me and my staff the opportunity to move on to the next stage of our careers,” said Smith of the acquisition. “I look forward to new challenges, projects and friendships.”

Smith and his staff join H2M’s private sector architecture studio, where they will work on a broad range of projects for the real estate market, including residential and multi-family work.

“The Frank Smith acquisition has immediately strengthened our efforts to expand into New York City,” said Rich Humann, H2M’s President and CEO. “The majority of Frank’s work is in the five boroughs, and his team brings a strong knowledge of the NYC Department of Buildings process and construction logistics process.”
